The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme
The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK. Its primary aim is to promote responsible dog ownership in the community. The Club has Kennel Club Listed status, this authorises the Club to hold Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Test Days. The puppies at the Club are automatically enrolled on the Puppy Foundation Scheme, the dogs at this level are assessed ‘in House’. The older dogs are examined at a Good Citizen Dog Scheme Test Day.  The Club normally holds three Test Days a year, where the three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold are tested. We always use a Kennel Club approved examiner from an organisation outside the Club, so you can be sure if you gain a Good Citizen certificate at one of our Test Days you really have earned it. We would not normally consider a dog ready to take a Bronze test until it is at least nine months old.
